Easter eggs are gorgeous ornaments dedicated to the Easter holiday. They're often used as Easter decor items for the entire home, offices, and Easter-themed parties alongside the Easter bunny.
Modern Easter eggs, or let's say Easter eggs in 2021, are made of wood, in contrast to previous versions. In the past, people made Easter eggs from hollow chicken eggs, which are not really cruelty-free.
People also made Easter eggs from chocolate and other edible items, but the downside is that they are perishable. You want your Easter decor items to last for years—therefore the need for wooden Easter eggs.
Let's head straight on to the top 5 Ideas for wood Easter eggs in 2021.
5 Wood Easter Eggs Ideas
The possibilities are endless when it comes to painting wooden Easter eggs. You can get creative and let your imagination run wild, making each egg your own and giving it a special twist.
1. Faberge Easter Eggs
These wooden Faberge Easter eggs are inspired by Russia's imperial Faberge eggs, and they look stunning. You just have to purchase blank wooden eggs and paint them using water-based paints or gouache.
You can also purchase some colorful shiny paper, cut them into pieces, and stick them on your blank wood egg with glue. Let it dry completely and cover them with varnish. There you go!
You can draw inspiration from our Faberge Easter eggs or historical Faberge eggs.
2. Owl Wooden Easter Eggs
Pick your favorite colors. We got owls of different colors: blue, orange, and brown. Aren't they beautiful? We must agree that painting these owl wooden Easter eggs is very difficult, but that is why we are professional artists. We'll also let you in on a not-so-secret; the blue one's our favorite! We used Tempera paints and water-based lacquer in making these beauties.
3. Natural Wooden Eggs
If you've got a specific rustic-style decor or farm decor with many brown color accents, you can always keep the eggs as is. We love this look; that's why we make our natural wooden eggs splinter-free and child-safe. If you have a pastel home accent but still want an Easter touch, these wood eggs are the perfect addition. Just place them in a bowl, on top of candle holders, in a cloche. Your imagination is the limit!
4. Bunny Easter Eggs
We heard you like Easter, so we've painted Easter bunnies on your Easter eggs. Well, this idea might have been inspired by the owl Easter eggs, but we used more pastel colors here—a blend of pastel blue, pink, yellow, green, maybe the whole rainbow. We hope you like them.
5. Racoon Easter Eggs
Surprise! Another Easter egg idea involving animals. How original! These Easter eggs are specially made for your little ones—hint: the bright blue and yellow colors. We've also painted a 'Happy Easter' inscription on the other side of each egg, and we encourage you to do the same.
